here's a short history of my car. I had an 85 sport coupe (2.8, auto) that I loved. I got it from my wife's family as it was a car that belonged to her Uncle before he dies of Cancer. Sold it to a family member when my family was growing, but got it back a couple of years later. Anyway, that car had some problems, and one day when my wife was driving back from houston, the engine threw a rod, so we just walked away from the car, because it would have cost more to get the car back to dallas and put another engine in than the car was worth. FFW a few years later. I was turning 40, and decided I wanted another 3rd gen. I liked the 2.8, wanted a 5 speed this time, and preferably without a lot of other power options, like power windows that always seem to break After a few months of searching, I founf this car on Craigslist for $1200, but I talked the guy down to $900 because I showed him on car fax that it had more miles on it than he was claiming. the paint was burned, the dash was crap, the seats were torn, but it ran pretty good, and the body was in good shape. I had my "new" car The first thing I did was change out the hatch and hood struts, and replace the taillights with the grid style. I actually bought those before hand because I KNEW whatever car I found in my price range would need them. I hated the wheels, so I polished and painted them

after that, I started working on filling the 10,000 hail dents I didn't notice when I bought it through the crappy, dull paint I rattle canned most of the car to make it look good for the time being, but I knew it was just a temp paint job. I then polished my plenum, my valve covers, and my dryer, and got the engine bay looking nice. I also replaced the steering wheel and put 4th gen seats im one project I wanted to do on my old camaro was to install a cupholder from a 93 cavalier. I built a mounting tray for it, and put it in. I also painted stripes on the hood and hatch.

WOw nice! That is an impressive car.
Your car really caught my attention at the meet I really wish I could have looked at it better but with all the action going on around it I really didnt get a good chance to.
Some people really dont give the Rs's the respect they deserve, it always has to be an Iroc or a Z28, I at first did not but I soon realized that these cars are just as awesome! Its pretty hard not to appreciate someone's hard work.

Thanks. It's not a perfect paint job, if I did it over again (which I will someday) the second attempt would be much better. I learned a lot
Someday when this engine dies I'll probably put a 4.8 or 5.3 LS1 in it, but only because I'm dying for a t56. I really want one of those.
I'm not really into speed, BTDT, and I'm old. LOL The 2.8 is plenty fast enough for me to get me where I need to go.
It is nice having the 5 speed with the fast rear end. At least the car seems peppy
